Methanex Corporation (TSX: MX; NASDAQ: MEOH) - which is a major player in the New Zealand gas scene - has appointed Maureen Howe as a new director.
Ms Howe brings strong finance and capital market experience to the board.
She served as managing director of Equity Research of Energy Infrastructure at RBC Capital Markets from 1996-2008.
Prior to that Ms. Howe held finance positions in the utility industry, investment banking and portfolio management.
She holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree from the University of Manitoba and a Ph.D in Finance from the University of British Columbia.
Ms Howe, a Canadian resident, also serves as a director of Pembina Pipeline Corporation, is director and chairwoman of the Audit Committee at TimberWest Forest Corporation and is involved in several other organisations including being a director of the Canadian Research Foundation.
Methanex is the world's largest producer and supplier of methanol to major international markets and it has two operating plants near New Plymouth.
